Teaching and Learning Facilities:
Teaching at the college is interactive
and participatory. Students are encouraged to share in the
total educational process. Actual teaching comprises of a
variety of activities such as classroom lectures, tutorials,
practical and laboratory session, discussion, seminar,
assignments, library work, field work, projects and
presentation by the students.
Library Service:
The library provides the following
services to optimize utilization of the reading materials
held in the library collection.
Reference Service.
Photocopying Service.
Internet Service.
The Library is kept open throughout the
year except on public holidays. Library timings are:
Monday to Saturday: 10AM - 4PM
Computerization
The Library is in the process of digitalizing and
automating its activities and service. The Library has
purchased software called "BOOK BANK" for
cataloguing and classifying the books, which would help the
students to find books in an easy manner. Users can access
the library holdings through the BOOK BANK package.
Remedial
Course :
A Remedial Course is provided for those who require
additional help with specific subjects. Students belonging to
SC/ST and Minorities sections are encouraged to take this
course. The course aims at enabling students to acquire
self-study techniques.
Coaching for Medical and Engineering Entrance:
The college offers intensive coaching
for medical and engineering aspirants.
Indigenous Medicine-Information and
Collection Centre :
Indigenous Medicine-Information and
Collection Centre is one of the innovations of Morigaon
College, which collects information of indigenous medicinal
plants, preparation of medicine as well as the traditional
practitioners of indigenous medicine. Presently, the centre
is publishing an annual news letter and a website on
indigenous medicinal plants.
Meditation Centre :
There is a meditation centre in the
college, which endeavours to improve spiritirual and mental
health of the college family as a whole.'Yoga' is included
in the daily class routine from the Session 2007-08.
Cultural and Anthropological Museum :
A unique Museum is being conceived by the
college and the department of Anthropology has been
entrusted with the responsibility of setting up a
Anthropological Museum.
Auditorium :
A massive Auditorium is under construction for the use of
the college, which will help in conducting different
cultural activities of the college.
Career Guidance and Counselling Cell:
There is a full-fledged and updated
Career Guidance and Counselling Cell in the college. The
students now have direct access to all the relevant and
necessary information regarding their future plan.
Morigaon Satriya Sangeet Vidyalaya :
Morigaon College has sponsored a Satriya
Sangeet Vidyalaya which spreads cultural activities such as
classical song, dance, etc. among the students of the
college as well as other interested students of the
district. Presently it strives for affiliation for B.Muse.
Course under Dibrugarh University.
Tribal Language Study Centre :
The college has a centre for the study of
Tribal Language and Culture. Morigaon being the homeland of
one of the most dominating tribes, the Tiwa (Lalung), the
centre endeavours to investigate the language and culture of
Tiwa (Lalung) community. The main objective of the centre is
to study the Language, History and Culture scientifically
and to promote integration among the tribes.
Forum for Economic and Social Changes :
The Forum for Economic and Social Changes
is one of the initiatives of the department of Economics,
which studies the economic potentiality of natural and human
resources with cause and effects and analyses their impact
on social changes.
Art Gallery :
There is an Art Gallery in the college
which preserves artistic and cultural activities of the
student as well as the teacher community of the college.
Computer Training Centre :
The Computer Training Centre offers short Turm
Computer Application Diploma courses to the students.
